Reaching new, younger demographics means embracing social media. Social media involves user interaction, information sharing, and user networking. Some examples are Google+, YouTube, Facebook Page, TripAdvisor, Twitter, and Blogs. These elements also add relevancy with Google, by adding additional external links to a website.

We do the initial set-up of these social media vehicles, then most of the content can be managed by the client. A blog, for example, can be set up as an online newsletter. Once we design the layout so it coordinates with the client's overall image, we can assign a designated "author." This author can then create and edit posts, add photos, provide links, etc. Users can sign-up as a subscriber, follower or a fan. This will eliminate the need to manage a newsletter mailing list, as 'opting in' is controlled by the user. Users decide how and when to follow your social media options. Blogs can be used in other ways also, functioning as an effective way to share current news, events, new product offerings, etc.

Domain name registration/renewals, hosting administration, website content updates, website statistics, search engine optimization, directory listing management, social media administration are examples of ongoing webmaster services.

For domain name and hosting, we create an account in your business name with a hosting provider (Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.). We put the account in your name so that you are the owner of your domain name and website hosting. Lavoie Graphics is your account's administrator. A basic Unix hosting plan cost under $200 yearly, which is charged to your credit card.

To administer several webmaster services and social media options, we also create a Google account in your business name. From this one account we can manage Google+, Google Analytics (statistics), Google Webmaster (add and verify url, add xml sitemap, etc.), BlogSpot (Blogs), Google Maps (interactive maps), YouTube (video), Google Calendar (for events calendar), Google Custom Search (search your website), GoogleAdWords (pay-per-click), and more. With the exception of AdWords, all these Google services are now free.

There are many "search engines" and directories on the internet to help consumers search for content of interest to them: Google, Bing, etc. Increasing a site's traffic today means increasing your website's Google relevancy score, since Google accounts for the bulk of all search traffic. It is critical that your website is "Google friendly," and that is how we build websites.

Internet “pay-per-click” is an important option for generating additional website traffic. Google AdWords and Bing Search Advertising are "pay-per-click" based on keyword bids. Besides the major www directories and search engines, it is also important to custom register with local and area directories (chamber of commerce, etc.), plus any custom directories for your industry and membership organizations.
